Marillion's latest CD, "Happiness is the Road" is out and is absolutely fan-damn-tastic...

The music is complex, textured and full of emotion.. Some really nice progressive moments mixed in with with newer sound they have...

Hogarth's lyrics are spotty in a few places, but overall it tells a great story... These are two CD's that are WELL worth the asking price...

And for those of you about to post "Marillion? I didn't even know they were still around...", Phooey on you!!! :p

Anyone out there have it yet??

I actually prefer Hogarth to Fish. A lot of Marillion fans get a crazed look in their eyes when I say that.

The only thing that hasn't improved with Hogarth is the quality of their picture discs, the 80's examples of which are some of the prettiest damn records you've ever seen.

As a Marillion fan I agree. I like this new album, specially the Essence cd. This train is my life and Trap the spark are my favorite songs so far. The artwork is also amazing.
I can't wait to hear them live !

Every bit as good as advertised :techman: Bit of a pain that it's not available on CD here in the UK other than by mail order through Racket Records, but I was able to get it via eMusic so that'll keep me happy in the meantime. "Whatever is Wrong With You" is one of the best tracks they've released in quite a while and there are several other top notch tracks on there too. Definitely like to catch them live at some point in the future......

I'm SO glad I traveled to Boulder, CO back in '04 to see the Marbles tour, as I'm not sure they'll ever be this way again. Live Marillion is a surreal experience.

While I love the Mark Wilkerson art of the Fish era, I find some of it hasn't stood up with time (only IMHO).. The package presentation of the new release is bar none, the finest I've ever owned from any group.

These CD's just get better and better as I listen to them.. Spent most of today with Essence on rotation in my office... Really nice to have on while trying to focus on work... I have to be careful with my humming along to the music however, as the acoustics in the place carry my voice right into another person's offce..
