New live action "Turtles"?

I was wondering if maybe my nephew would like to see this, then I found out last weekend my niece who watches My Little Pony and fairy princess shows knows which weapon which turtle uses. Learned this after seeing a TMNT ceramic cookie jar which was "soooo cute...even though his swords are on his side not criss-crossed on his back like they're supposed to be....".

Speaking of Pizza Hut and their Ninja Turtle connection. Anyone remember in the instruction manual for "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: The Arcade Game" there was a coupon for a free (or maybe reduced price) personal pan pizza? I used that sucker right away when I got the game.

Since Pizza Hut seems to be the big sponsor here, I wish they'd rerelease Coming Out of Their Shells on CD.

Ha ha, I still have a pair of the sunglasses they gave away with the first or second film somewhere.
I'd be surprised if it was for the first film. Mikey orders from Dominos in that one. Still, I've been wrong before.

Edited to add: I probably am wrong. Google shows a fair whack of Pizza Hut advertizing tied to the first TMNT movie. Oops. :)

I still think Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze is one of the worst long movie titles, right up there with City Slickers II: The Legend of Curly's Gold.

To be fair, Dominos was late and then got shafted on the tip. Maybe it was intentional to display them less flatteringly ;)

2 has the worst title, but is still much better than 3. Outside of Casey, the third movie has very little going for it.

Just when you thought this forthcoming abortion of a movie couldn't get any worse, they release an awful rap "song" to accompany it.

Link

I mean it worked so well for Vanilla Ice and TMNT 2.

Man, what a disaster this is going to be.

Comparing lyrics, this new song has two elements Vanilla Ice's "Ninja Rap" doesn't: luxury object/wealth porn (ugh), and an emphasis on family and brotherhood (good). Both songs stress the awesomeness of the turtles and their ability to party and rock crowds.

I too thought the song was awful on my first listen, but started liking it after only a handful of replays. It's certainly better than the pop-metal crap that close out the Bayformers abominations. :p

I wonder if they'll tool around with the animated show to fit the movie in some way.

I guess they haven't done that with Batman the past few years. Separate toylines, too.

Heck, they had 'movie' figures for the original Playmates TMNT line that ran parallel.

God NO! I doubt it happens anyway because the new cartoon has been out two years now, so it is harder to retool compared to a show that hasn't even started. Also I imagine there would be intense backlash from fans since the cartoon is quite popular.

The fanbase will completely disown this movie like what happened with the Avatar fanbase with the Last Airbender movie, if it is bad enough!
