New Joss Whedon/Drew Goddard Movie

Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard will work together on new horror Cabin In The Woods.

The pair, who worked together on Buffy The Vampire Slayer, have co-written the script for the big screen project.

"There's a reason the title is so straightforward," Goddard told MTV. "It's its own sub-genre, the cabin in the woods, and this is sort of our take on it. It's fresh and new."

He added: "It's genius, it's funny. It's got a harder and darker edge, but it's also got classic Whedon qualities. It'll rip your heart out and be heartfelt at the same time."

So, another Whedon movie project... are we finally going to get one that gets off the ground? I hope so, but I'm not holding my breath.

Sadly, there's no new information in that article than what Joss said about a year ago at SDCC:
[...] he has written "The horror movie to end all horror movies... literally." Whedon wrote the script, titled "Cabin in the Woods" with one-time Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel writer Drew Goddard. Whedon didn't share any other details beyond his hyperbole, and as it's at the script stage, there's currently no cast or even a studio involved.
I'd love to see another Whedon-helmed film, but with Goners on the backburner since Mary Parent left Universal, I'm not exactly holding my breath.

Ah, I hadn't seen that, or if I had it slipped my mind.

I'm really ready for more Joss-y goodness. "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog" and "Dollhouse" are hopefully just the beginning.

Horror is a genre I can take or leave--unless it's got a really cool concept like The Ring, I'm generally indifferent--but if Whedon wrote it, I'd see it. I love the man's writing.

Most horror is either boring or just stupid. The problem is the same-ness of it all. But I'll look at Whedon's take on it because if there's one thing he's not, it's same-y. ;)

Drew Goddard would be one my favourite writers on Buffy & Angel (plus he wrote Cloverfield and the recent Wolves at the Gate arc for Buffy Season 8), and Joss Whedon is Joss Whedon.
So hell yeah I'd go see it
