I'm sure he'd have to do some research to figure out its state, otherwise their kids would be rather disappointed. Or his memories could be fooling him, making it bigger than he remembers, and making it a really big deal in his kid's minds.

You forgot one Vacation movie from your list: Christmas Vacation 2 (2003, TV movie). But that's probably the worst movie of the series so far.

I havent seen that one and dont think I wanna....

That trailer didn't bolster much confidence. Looked like it was trying a bit too hard to be "hip".

Also interesting to see the kids' reactions to the news of the vacation. I seem to remember a similar reaction from the kids in the original, which falls in line with my thinking that it's not that big of a place, and that the kids would likely rather be going elsewhere.

Still, I laughed at the "rimjob" scene where the passerby making his way over to the pool decided he was going avoid that conversation altogether, so I'm no better.

That one got me as well. It looks true to the original in its style of humor.

I really think Anthony Michael Hall should've been chosen to return as Rusty. I know the joke is that the kids change with everyone film, but I would've gotten a good laugh if Clark said something to Rusty along the lines of, "That's the Russ I remember!"

I'm not too impressed with the film's trailer. The meta humor is so forced. "I didn't even know about the original vacation." "This vacation is going to stand on its own!"



However, when the Ferrari gets hit by the truck. That got me. Totally wasn't expecting that.

It didn't have to hold a candle to the original. It just had to entertain, which it did.

Personally, I'd like to see a sequel featuring these characters. Will definitely pick up the Blu-ray when it comes out.
