New Harry Potter 6 Trailer

Yeah, I'm really disappointed that we won't get to see this until the summer. Like the Bond films, the Potter films just feel like "winter" films to me. Maybe it's because they take place during the school year.

Oh well. That was a fantastic trailer, and the movie really does look incredible. I hope that if the delay was partially to fix some things like I've heard, that they did indeed get fixed and we end up getting an excellent movie this summer.

I'm still a bit concerned since HBP has the least actual story of any of the books,

Bullshit. HBP was a damn good book. In fact, it was better than the finale she gave us.

I didn't say it was bad. All I said was that the main drive of this book was fleshing out back story, and it didn't really have a driving storyline other than "What is Malfoy up to?" which is a really weak one in comparison to the rest of the books. While this sort of thing may work well in a book, it doesn't translate well to film.

No, it was much more than fleshing out the back story. It followed the rest of the books perfectly and made perfect sense to what Dumbledore said in book 4.

It could translate well to the films, unfortunately, they didn't focus on that in the films.

^Really it was just a way of appeasing the fandom seeing as the movie was originally supposed to come out next week.

I've always considered the "Potter" movies to be, well, Thanksgiving/Christmastime films — probably because the first few debuted during that time (same period when LotR was on the silver screen).

I've never gotten used to "Potter" showing during the late spring/early summer period.

Agreed. Harry Potter is totally a winter franchise. Pushing it back to summer spoils the feel of it. (They could have pushed back Watchmen by a few months if they were feeling that their summer line-up needed a little beefing up. As is, all they've accomplished is they've practically given free license to let Twilight PWN the next couple months.)

Well, maybe I can make it a merrier Christmas by busting out my DVDs of The Lord of the Rings.

BTW, I was watching this Holocaust drama on PBS last night called God on Trial. In it, there was this geeky nebbish with a scarf and round glasses and I kept asking, "Why is Harry Potter in a concentration camp?"

I guess I've never really thought about which season HP "belongs" in for me. That's more a function of LOTR being my "wintertime" filmfest. My daughter and I watch all 3 together every Christmas. With HP it's been more of a "let's watch this individual film today" since there are too many to see in one sitting.
