"New Frontier: The Returned" released as a physical book?

For me the problem is not staring ata screen, but accidentaly toucing at while holding the tablet and thus going to the next page. That's why I prefer computers. Well, and physical books.

I don't know if later ones are touchscreens, but on my old Kindle Keyboard the only way to advance the screen is to hit the designated key for it!

My Kindle Fire is several years old and it's touchscreen. It's relatively easy to swipe. I read both print and ebooks but lately I've been reading old Trek paperbacks.

Not to rehash this again, but reading from an e-ink reader like a normal Kindle is the same on your eyes as reading real ink on paper, and not at all like reading on a screen.

Yep, this is exactly right. To go into more detail for others, e-ink displays are reflective, in that they rely on light reflecting off a surface to be legible, unlike an emissive display like a screen which relies on emitting light to generate an image. It's that emitted light that can make screens hard to read or view for extended periods, but e-ink works by manipulating the surface of the display to change the image "printed" on it, no emission of light required.

I don't know what kind of tablet you have, but one of the apps allows to you to change it so you can hit the volume keys on the side of the tablet to change the pages rather than swiping on the screen.

I use some sort of iPad and the kindle app. Anyways, I got used to reading on the big screen, so I'll stick to that.

I used to hate ebooks (no paper, screen issues, etc), then I got an iPad mini w/ retina display. I still prefer a physical book, but reading ebooks (like "The Returned") really isn't that bad.

I used to read only paper books, but several years ago the company I work for gave all the employees an iPad mini. Because of that and the fact that I had run out of room for physical books I started reading ebooks. Even then I still preferred paper, but over the years my preferences have changed. Now I'd rather read an ebook. I can read in dark rooms without having to get up and turn on a light and reading from a screen has never bothered my eyes. I will occasionally read a paper book, but when I do it just feels weird. One thing I've gotten used to about ebooks is being able to highlight text with my finger and google that word or phase, and I've occasionally caught myself trying to do the same in a paper book.

One of my fondest memories from the last quarter of 2015 is reading TP: Seize the Fire in one session with a minimum of light, just enough to see the book.

Yes. I very much dislike reading a book on a regular screen, but I <3 my Kobo e-ink reader! :)
