New Earth Book 6: Challenger printing error

Hello there,

Firstly, apologies if this has been queried before, but i have recently bought a copy of Diane Carey's New Earth: Challenger. It seems, however, that pages 91 - 122 have undergone some kind of printing error. There is a lot of missing text and on many pages the top is upside down and the bottom runs off the end of the page...i was wondering whether this is a common problem, as i don't particulary want to buy another copy only for it to have the same problem.

Best Regards,

JPW

It's not a common problem, so far as I'm aware. If it's a new book, you should be able to return it to the store where you bought it and have it replaced free of charge. If you bought it used, then that of course may be problematic.

^ Yes, i did buy it used...but really it shouldn't be to bad, as they shouldn't really list somethings condition as 'Very Good' if you can't read it!! Thanks for the information though, i'll set about getting another copy :)

AFAIK, the only Pocket ST book with a consistent printing error through the whole first print run was "Stargazer: Oblivion", where several batches of pages had about 1/4 inch of missing text down the edges.

Pocket fixed the problem for the second printing - and Marco organized for PDFs of the affected pages to be downloadable from the Simon & Schuster site for those collectors not wanting to forfeit their first editions.
