New Dog in the house

Two and a half years after our lab died, we've finally found our next dog.

She's a 9 month old border collie mix we named Laika. She's got a lot of energy, already knows sit, stay, down, she heels on a leash and plays ball and frisbee like a mad dog.

We sprung her just in time for the 4th of July.

We found her at a local animal shelter. I went Saturday to look and saw her. I took her out to the play yard and knew she was the one. She'd been dropped off on Tuesday because they had too many animals.

The timing was right and I was able to bring her home yesterday.

That is a great looking doggie! Also - good job going with a shelter dog - we've had several, and all of them were wonderful additions to the family!

Such a sweetie! If she's anything like my cattle dog mix, she will keep you on your toes!!

We have four dogs at the moment (the scotties had to be taken as a set) - all from shelters... Such a great feeling to have saved the lives of such awesome animals...
