New Description for Ring Of Time

Sure, they're not particularly eav'oqative, but still...you'd have to have a heart of Stone not to chuckle at them a bit.

Dear Mr Cox,

Given that you like to reconcile Trek history with real world history, will your new book have anything to say about why the DY-100 series isn't in use in the present, whereas TOS "Space Seed" stated they were in service until 2018?

What real world historical developments up until our present will be mentioned in the story?

Well, when it comes to reconciling real history with Trek history, it was very nice of the economy to nose-dive just in time for the all those Sanctuary districts for the homeless . . . .

I briefly touch on the the DY-10's and the aftermath of Khan stealing the Botany Bay, but not too much. I wanted the new book to be accessible to readers who might not have read the Khan books so there are only brief allusions to the Botany Bay, Area 51, Shannon O'Donnell, etc.

(To be honest, I originally intended to work Gary Seven and Roberta Lincoln into this book, but it felt forced so I finally came around to the idea that they didn't really belong there. This was Shaun Christopher's story; Seven and Roberta were an unnecessary complication.)
