New book: "Star Wars vs Star Trek"

I am of course very much aware of the report Speaker and on behalf of the Central Command wish to complement you on your quick and assertive efforts as regards possible dissent within our glorious Union. Do not seek to over step your grounds friend Speaker...

With the Bothans and our Romulan 'allies' entertaining each other I feel that our attention could be paid to those aggressive humans of the enemy galaxy who rather originally call themselves 'the Empire.' Such an powerful organization is worth watching very closely indeed.

^ Analysis of the Imperial fleet has revealed several notable weaknesses, Legate. Switch to secure channel Tantok Gold before I continue. First, the mainstream vessel designated "Star Destroyer" is clearly a large Talarian ship painted white, and without the fins glued on. Defective Talarian castoffs as the pride of the fleet? Pitiful. Second, the superweapon code-named "Death Star" is merely a Xindi Planetkiller with minor modifications. Our agents report that, remarkably, the initial weakness of the design has not been corrected for and a chain reaction triggered through a single explosion near the reactor core would still be sufficient to destroy it. This "Empire" is likely nowhere near the threat sensationalist and irresponsible media outlets in other nations portray it as.

^Yeah, I remember when I first saw that site back in...'06, I believe.

For those of you who want to be spared...the dang site purports to have a comprehensive and comparative list of the respective tech of both genres--ship velocities, weapons capabilities, etc.

Of course, the entire point of the page is to "prove" that "The Empire squashed the Federation like a bug"--no questions asked.

The site goes through one list where Wars's numbers beats Trek's by a really big margin--and then says, "Oh, but the Trekkies say that the books shouldn't be considered canon."

It then goes through a similar list, claiming to only use materials from souces Trek fans would deem cannonical--same results.

When I looked at that page, I just shook my head and wondered, "Where the heck did they get all these numbers?"

Especially after they remove the non-cannonical sources....

Furthermore...apparently, the Empire isn't that tough, considering how in Jedi, all the rebels needed was to blow up an on-site shileld generator--and then all the star destoyers started dropping like flies before the mighty...fighters....
