Hi all,
I just wanted to let you know that my new book, "Gender and Sexuality in Star Trek," will be available in October. The chapters primarily discuss TOS, VOY, TNG, ENT, and several of the films. Many episodes are discussed in depth, and there are close readings of several of the films, especially The Wrath of Khan, First Contact, and Nemesis. Some of the topics include Captain Kirk and the male gaze; the holographic Doctor as a coming out allegory; the relationship between Captain Janeway and Seven of Nine; and why race is such a volatile subject for Trekkian allegory. I also consider the 2009 Trek reboot within the context of the Trek mythos as a whole. I really hope that you guys enjoy it!
