New Bajor and Enterprise

I would like to have seen the Ent pickup Kira and travel to the New Bajor colony to help set up the irrigation systems and just assist the colony in getting on its feet. Kira could have had some flirtations w/Riker and set up beautifully the attack on the colony by the Jems. In fact, I would have like to have seen the Ent personnel defending the NBC, and barely escaping.

I think its total BS, DS9 finding out about months later from a Jem member.

I doubt TPTB would want to muddy the waters like that. Crossovers should, IMHO, be rare.

Besides, if they needed starship scenes, that's what the Defiant was for. And that episode DID give us some Kira/Riker flirtation...

The problem with that idea is, either ya get Jonathan Frakes as a guest star on DS9 and Riker is the only one who Kira interacts with durin' her time on the Enterprise and a bunch of extras who just nod & push buttons when given orders...

...or ya get Nana Visitor to guest star on TNG and ya get the whole Enterprise crew.

Either way, its elements of TNG comin' in to handle the job that the DS9 crew are supposed to have, as if they need handholdin' or the runabouts just ain't enough, since New Bajor was destroyed before the Defiant was introduced.

I would have wanted to see Kira come out to greet Picard and Crusher on TNG's Birthright. That's what I expected to happen, I think it could have been a cool interaction, and it would make sense because Picard and Sisko probably didn't want to speak to each other after Emissary. Seemed kind of dumb that they had to tour the station by themselves when less important guests are greeted on arrival.

Less important guests like the Wadi in a first contact situation, the leader of a non-aligned foreign power (the Grand Nagus), the head of state from Bajor, or a prominent military leader from a government with a newly signed peace treaty?

Picard was just the captain of a starship, ya know...though the discussion between Worf & Odo in 'Rapture' shows that they can get some nice perks durin' big events.

But at the same time, ships & their captains passed through DS9 all the time.

And goin' back to what I was sayin' earlier, when ya have the crossovers where the crews mingle, its goin' to be one person either way (the ENT finale bein' the exception to the rule). 'Birthright, Part One' only had Bashir. 'Emissary' only had Picard.

I think having Kira in Birthright would have been cool, but ultimately it wasn't necessary, so that's why they didn't do it.

I think after Emissary, Sisko and Picard began exchanging sub-space Christmas and Birthday Cards. In Emissary II, they kissed and made up and promised that'd do Wrigly Field when the Cubs opened up in April

Well, it was pretty unnecessary for them to even go to DS9 in the first place. All that happens there is Worf gets a tip about his father, and that could have been done anywhere. Same thing with Bashir's marginal involvement with Data. At least with Kira we would be getting an interaction between Picard and another major character from DS9.

The whole scene was a just promotional appearance of the station.
