New Animated Show: Star Wars: Forces of Destiny

So, I realized earlier, you know what Ezra didn't do after his Master came at him swinging a lightsaber while he was unarmed, unwary, and defenseless?

I have no sympathy for Kylo Ren at all. Even putting aside the "burning down the school and killing everyone" part, for all he knew, Luke was doing some Inspector Clouseau surprise-training thing. A true Jedi wouldn't have panicked.

But you're overlooking that the Force enables sensing imminent attacks and danger. That's literally the very first Force ability Luke was ever trained in by Obi-Wan. It also gives telepathic or empathic abilities, like sensing people's emotions. Luke and Ben had been training together long enough that they must have known each other's minds pretty well, and Luke's intent to kill and his inner turmoil at doing so would've been radiating off him intensely.

Looks like they saved this one until after Solo was released.

That was fun.

Any word if that was actually Emilia Clarke? Sounded like her to me but my hearing is terrible.

Thanks. I've never heard of that website before. Is it reliable? Almost sounds like they're speculating based on what they heard from the episode itself.

I still think it's weird they don't include any credits for these episodes, either in the actual video or in the YouTube video description.

After a Google search that was the only site I found that mentioned Clarke at all in regards to the episode. If it were her in the episode, you would think that somebody would mention it somewhere, but this is the only mention of her that I found.

ETA: And I did say that it was "apparently" not Clarke.

I don't know what Clarke's voice sounds like offhand, but the voice there sounded like an actress who doesn't have much voice-acting experience and thus gave a stiff performance, which made me think it probably was Clarke. If they'd recast her, they'd probably have hired a more experience voice actress.

Emilia Clarke does have experience in voice acting, having done voice work for Futurama, Robot Chicken, Thunderbirds Are Go, and a Game of Thrones video game.

That seems odd considering how pretty much everyone still alive has been in this show. I suppose Anakin and Padme are weird exceptions where their animated counterparts are almost more "real" than the film actors.

Having just spent two days at Disneyland I was struck by how the Sequel Trilogy actors are more often than not represented by the real folk.

Disney's committed to making it all one consistent universe, so getting the actors to work cross-media is part of that. It might even be in their contracts. Or maybe it's just part of the culture they're working in, that close interconnectedness between the parts. (I haven't seen Solo yet, but I've read spoilers about how it incorporates a key piece of Clone Wars/Rebels continuity in a significant way, even using the animated shows' voice actor for the character in question.)

Ooh, I've just realized what I want the next standalone movie to be. Hondo: A Star Wars Story.

Qi'ra was voiced by Olivia Hack, who has done an absolute butt-load of voice work.

She's been in Star Wars and Star Trek, but she'll always be Cindy Brady to me. ;)

In the weeks before TLJ came out, I saw a quote from an interview mentioning "Holdo is a very different leader than Leia," and I misread it as "Hondo" at first glance, and I haven't been able to get the idea of him being an Admiral in the Resistance out of my head since.
