New Andorians

Okay, but why didn't he lockdown Discovery's computers? That would seem more efficient than holding the bridge crew at gunpoint and waiting for Cornwell to beam aboard and lockdown the computers.

It could be that only some admirals have the ability to lockdown Crossfield-class ships. Maybe only Cornwell because she was the fleet commander or something, and Shukar is just a staff admiral.

Then it makes even less sense. Cornwell's background is as a psychologist, Shukar's is presumably a combat oriented one. Logically speaking, he should have the override code, not Cornwell.
I don't think that wasn't Shukar who beamed aboard.
Assuming your double negative is a mistake, it definitely was Shukar who beamed aboard.

And we don't know Shukar's background. He might be combat oriented or he might be a JAG admiral. Either way, it's war and Admiral Cornwell was the highest ranking or the one chosen to take command of the Discovery.

Or maybe she doesn't have a command of her own, and Shukar beamed her over from his flagship.

I forget, but did our Shukar's voice sound electronically modulated like that of his MU counterpart? I'm kinda hoping they drop that effect. I like everything about the revised Andorians except that crap.

They have the power to make an entire bottle of Andorian ale disappear at one sitting.

A JAG Admiral leading a tactical strike team? A JAG Admiral making battle strategies and decisions regarding fleet deployments? Do go on with this theory.

Yes, Shukar Prime also spoke with a Goa'uld voice just like Mirror Shukar did. And I agree, it's stupid AF. Though, in my head canon, I've given Shukar an artificial voice box due to a combat injury. That may raise questions about how did a rebel in the MU get access to that kind of medical technology and advanced surgery, but that's just a story waiting to be told.

Is there anything to indicate Cornwell is not a combat officer?

I'd watch the crap out of that.
