New Andorians

anyway, original design got changed
also, wasn't there an episode, TNG if I remember right, with proto-Vulcans? basically Vulcans in the stone age? They had the Romulan forehead vagina too, IIRC

There was a makeup test for ST'09 that showed the Romulans a more pronounced brow, but it was more Neanderthal like then TNG Romulan.

The Mintakans in "Who Watches the Watchers?" Yeah, they had enlarged brow ridges that set them apart.

I got used to their appearance and eventually loved them but they never felt like Vulcans who naturally evolved brow ridges in just two millennia.

The 1988 Working Girl look took off in the Romulan Star Empire after first contact with humans. They somehow downloaded Enterprise NX-01's database while in the minefield. ;)

They looked the same to me. They just had cranial and facial tattoos.
Yeah, pretty sure the main prosthetics were the bald caps. Even Nero's wife, who was only briefly featured doesn't appear to have any prosthetics:

And I think the only time we see an actual Andorian in any of the later shows is in the BG of "Captain's Holiday" (plus a hologram in "The Offspring")

Now I'm going to have a whole Guinan-like backstory in my head for that Andorian. One of the few survivors of a mysteriously decimated race, now roaming the galaxy alone...

I cant fault the makeup artists for their technical skill, but like I say, its okay sometimes to make aliens who have smooth skin - I thought the Andorians in ENT were more or less perfect.

I also like that they used some puppets in one episode (barely seen), the show could do with more of that, like Farscape:
