New and Improved POST YOUR PET PICTURES Thread

Thanks for the interesting info about the snow and kitties. You guys have some really adorable pets! The Cat House isn't a bad idea, sounds great for an outdoor cat really. Dogs do it, why not cats??

Took this last night. My two knuckleheads. Do you think they could lay any more on top of each other?

SEEKER, even with your phone you manage to take the clearest shots i have ever seen. :techman:

^ It's not like dogs have a concept of personal space or anything. Mine sleep all over each other on chilly nights.

^ This is so true. We can be sitting on the couch and the two of them will be rough and tumble playing on the floor. They'll jump onto the couch and start playing, rolling, etc right over us. Absolutely NO concept of personal space! Heh, i remember the first time after we brought Dora home to live with us they were racing around, jumping all over the place, including on us, and my husband looked at me and said, "I don't know if i can live like this." They've become the main source of our entertainment these days! I can't believe we ever lived without the two of them together.

^ My wife had a phone interview yesterday for an opening at a university. She came home to do it since she obviously doesn't want people at work to hear.

She had to separate the dogs so they would make a fuss during her phone call. Otherwise it sounds like a buffalo stampede while two wookiees fight. She put Helena in her crate, but couldn't leave Rupert upstairs while she was downstairs, otherwise he would whimper pitifully the whole time.

It's an adventure with those two.

That happens here as well. If the husband needs to make a business call we have to lower the shades in the front window. God forbid a squirrel, cat, person, molecule of air pass by and the dogs see it. They go beserk.

Hey everyone, I had a question for you cat owners, especially with outdoor cats...

This may seem obvious to some of you, but I've never lived in a snowy area, so I was wondering how cats deal with snow. I mean what if the snow is tall, do they freak out when they sink through it? How do they find a place to go to the bathroom if everything's covered in snow?? Is it too cold for them to stay out long, or do they frolic in it freely? I must know how this works!

I live in Chicago so we have some pretty rough winters. Our cats still love going out into the snow, probably because it's interesting, different, less annoying than rain, and allows them to hide and frolic. They don't spend as much time outside if it's insanely cold/snowy, but they definitely don't mind harsh winters---especially with nice fur coats to deal with the elements! We'll just let them in after 30-60 minutes or so---gives them some time to play and it's best not to disrupt a cat's bathroom/litter pattern if they've already established part of it outdoors anyway.

When I lived in LA, we had a neighbor who would panic and bring in all her potted plants and stop letting her cat out if the temperature fell below 50. I give Shameless shit for weather attitudes like this all the time. :rommie:

I had to have Dallie euthanized today. The cancer had spread so fast and she was in such terrible pain. I feel like my heart has been ripped out of my chest. Here she is from more happier times:

That's a great gallery of pics, J. I hate it when pets pass. She looks like she was a great companion.
