New and Improved POST YOUR PET PICTURES Thread

Did I kill the thread?

Anyway, here's someone venturing out into the big outdoors -from my bedroom window:

I'm now officially a cat person; six days ago Füb moved in and started changing my life...

On her third day she found the deeper meaning of some scratch-boards I'd put up...

(For size comparison reasons only,
I've put an ordinary vacuum in the image :p )

...and found her way to the top of the shelves:

Now I live in the constant fear of a cat-attack from above and behind :rommie:

(Here is a close-up of the comics for those so inclined.)

I think it's a law of physics that a domestic cat always rises to the highest point of the room.

Indeed, and I've supplied the high ground to my new room mate, knowing she'd love it :rommie:

Oh, btw, I've just come home from a five-minute walk to the shop around the corner: now, my desk is off limits to pets, (yeah, right  ) but I'd opened a new document in an .txt-editor as the only active window before I left ;)

These are the very first recorded keystrokes of my cat:

Awwww....For some reason he reminds me of our dog Keiran.

This is the last picture of him. We had to put him down a little more then a year ago. He became really sick and nothing worked, so keeping him alive longer would just have been causing him more pain. So he'll be waiting for us in the next life.

Here are some of the earliest pics of him.

And this is when he's a few months old, and probably my favorite of him:

He just looks so darned cute!

And this pic of him and my mom is just hilarious

We still have our other American Cocker, Zilwer, but I don't have any good new pics of him at the moment.

B'Elanna and Worf inspecting the bureau for structual stability or kitty treats - one or the other . . .

They're longhaired cats and quite often have, um, klingons . . .

^ God they're gorgeous dawgs!

My girlfriend's new baby- i'd swear he's a beanie baby:

She does look a lot like one, but she's actually a Pekingese. She has the folds under her eyes that are one of the distinguishing characteristics between the two breeds.

And thank you, she IS a doll. I tell people, if you like dogs at all, you will fall in love with Sonnet. She is SO sweet and mellow, and she loves everyone.

I didn't know that! I've met a couple Pekes but never a TibSpan. Is she cut down or do Pekes come in a shorter haired version? I never would have guessed.

Whoops, forgot about this thread.

In addition to the pics I just posted in the main picture thread of my dogs, here's one of Pippin and her bunny.

She doesn't play with that bunny, she just likes to make sure nobody else touches it!

Sonnet was a rescue from a puppy mill, so any ideas about her heritage are really speculation. When I first got her, both the rescue/fosters and the vet called her a Pekingese. I wasn't completely convinced, though, because my idea of a Peke is the waddling dustmops you see in the dog shows. But after researching as much as I could on the net (or at least enough to satisfy me), I came to agree that she IS a Peke. The eye folds element was one of the things that finally convinced me.

If you do a Google image search, you'll see dogs that look like Sonnet under both names. I do keep her cut shorter than the show standard coat, but man, if you're not showing a dog, I can't imagine wanting to deal with fur that long and apt to mat. Even kinda short, Sonnet gets mats in her ears between grooms. In the summer, she gets a buzz cut to keep her cool. But I never let her get as long as a show dog would be.

Pugs are pretty goofy looking, but I always found something striking about a jet black dog. My black Lab is a lot more photogenic than the chocolate one.
