New "Alice In Wonderland" pictures

When I saw the photo of Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, I thought that he looked like Madonna with that smile!:)

Didn't we already have a Tim Burton Alice in Wonderland? American McGee did it. :p
They'd been trying to make a film version of American McGee's Alice (a sequel to the two Alice books) for years now. IMDB says it's set to be released at the same time as Tim Burton's adaptation Alice in Wonderland... but it seems to be in development hell from what I can see.

I never did get a chance to play American McGee's Alice. It looked interesting.

It was a good game as far as I managed to get with it. It did portray a reaaaally freaky version of Wonderland for one, and the corruptions of all the characters were really cool (there's nothing like seeing a tatooed Siamese cat with an ear piercing as the Cheshire Cat). Gameplay was pretty decent too.

I'll admit that I'm not a massive fan of Tim Burton, but I reckon his style is quite suited to Alice in Wonderland, unfortunately the amount of things he's done before in the same style means that it's not really going to stand out from his repetoire.

Didn't even know this film was on the horizon at any point, but I'll give it a go :)

Hey guys,

Interesting discussion in here regarding "Alice." It seems to me that people either love that Burton is on this one, or they hate it. One thing you can say for sure, is that TB does do it differently than anybody else would.

Check this out: http://www.fearnet.com/news/b16089_sdcc_2009_we_talk_lsquoalice_in.html

It's a few questions with Burton discussing his inspiration towards the material. Did you guys know this was his FIRST time at Comic-Con? Crazy.

Well, I watched the trailer and though I don't care for Burton's style it seems to fit for this movie/story. Johnny Depp's Mad Hatter seems too much like he's (with Burton's direction) trying to do a take on Ledger's Joker.

Looks... "interesting" and I may go see it. Which, never thought I'd say that about a Burton movie.
