New "Alice In Wonderland" pictures

Meh, I wouldn't mind Burton's style so much if he demonstrated some ability to mix it up every once in a while.

I'm looking forward to this. :techman:

Burton has a strong directorial slant and it's not to everyone's taste, but I'd rather have more filmmakers like that around than bland, milquetoast functionaries.

I sort of find this one a big disturbing

Someday, in the distant future, people will be over Tim Burton's pseudo-gothic style and sensibilities and wonder what the fuck people saw in him.

Seriously, someone get that man some high-grade antidepressants and possibly some E-S Therapy. I'm so over, and sick of, his style.

Trekker, is there something going wrong in your life outside the board? I ask because over the past month, maybe a bit longer, I've noticed that all of your posts are decidedly negative. And that's not something I normally associate with you.

Really?

Honestly, I've been under stress from work and personal life.

Still, though, I hate Tim Burton.

Urk, can't say I'm looking forward to this one. An Alice in Wonderland film does need to be stylistically creative, but personally I don't find Burton's style to be interesting at all. It never varies much, and his tendency to use the same actors a lot makes it seem overly familiar before it is even released.

I can't wait for Tim Burton and Michael Bay to co-direct a movie.

"That 9-foot tall giant with a head bigger than the rest of his body is riding a unicycle right at us!"

"Call in an air strike. Bring the rain!"

Now that I'd like to see.

Depp - ugh. Zombie Hatter looks dumb. What is he? Some new kind of special infected? Light that fucker up with a Molotov!

Carter - ugh. Big heads are shitty cheatcode unlocks in 90s video games.

Hathaway - awesome. Who the fuck is she supposed to be? Was there like a white queen or something in the book? She's not Alice, that's the chick from In Treatment.

Yes, Through the Looking-Glass was the book that featured the chess match between White and Red.

Fictitiously yours, Trent Roman

Those pictures to me look like everything Alice in Wonderland should be. Afterall, the original source material was written by a pedophile on an opium binge. Burton has every right to make his movie look as crazy as he wants it to be.
Agreed!:vulcan:
Is the Mad Hatter supposed to be a zombie Alfred E Newman or something?
:guffaw:
Ugh, I hate Tim Burton's style so much that it makes me a little angry.
I love his style(sometimes):techman:

I'm looking forward to this. Burton's style is definitely repetitive, but at least it's visually interesting.

And I love the cast in this one. Johnny Depp. Helena Bonham Carter. Christopher Lee. Crispin Glover. Stephen Fry. Alan Rickman. Tim Pigott-Smith. Lindsay Duncan. All great.

I sort of find this one a big disturbing

Poor Matt Lucas.

Dear Mr. Burton: Please dial back the bleach-white face meter for once.

Oh.

Oh fuck.

Well, maybe next time. Maybe? No?

The most straight-forward movies Burton has made are probably Batman and Planet of the Apes. Other than that, he's been pretty cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs.
