Someone made a really good point about the Lithium Cracking Station on Delta Vega from "Where No Man Has Gone Before" - the place looked so lonely, such fantastic desolation out on the edge of the galactic disk, the only traffic if ever sees are ore freighters dropping in every 20 years. Does anyone have a picture of that old matte paiting they could post here? That'd be sweet. I love this thread - I can't believe I haven't looked at it til now. Keep up the good work, guys. Wish I had some skill at digital artwork so that I might contribute something...I'm stuck with a lot of ideas and a burning envy for all the pixel-pushing masters like Deks, Vektor, Warped9, and everyone else. All I've got is some decent pencil sketches. Maybe I'll invest in a scanner.

I didn't, it's part of the original shot, out of a rear-facing window...

^ That's a very nice and sharp shot of the Klingon Battlecruiser, Warped9. Where did you obtain it?

For some reason, I've always preferred the original Klingon Battlecruiser to the TMP redesign. I don't know why--they're virtually identical.

ThomasSasser was gracious enough to have supplied the pic. I might suspect it's of the original TOS filming miniature, but it might just as well be a really well made scratchbuild. Either way I made the windows glow and added the red lights as well as darkened the hull and gave it a dark grayish blue/green cast to the hull. I like to think I made it look sufficiently menacing, but then I may be biased.

It's an excellent shot, showing off the Klingon Battlecruiser in just the right pose. :)

Here's a challenge for all you budding CCI types: Who wants to try a recreation of that zoom-in shot, so that it matches up with the interior of the bridge?
