Never Can Say Goodbye; No, no, no, no... (spoiler)

Good news everyone!

Formally floppy-haired, big-chined hipster douchebag Matt Smith apparently can't take a hint and is back in Peter Capaldi's first episode for a cameo (vocal) appearance; calling up Jenna where-did-I-put-that-hypen Coleman to reassure her that the wrinkly old fart in the Derren Brown cast-offs smelling of wee is indeed still him.

Certainly puts David Tennant's "overlong" departure into perspective.

Can that chip on your shoulder get any bigger?

That wasn't necessary, no matter how much you disagree with the OP.

That makes no sense, especially for Clara who in the last three stories has transversed the Doctors timeline helping various incarnations of the Doctor, has had an adventure with 11,10 and the War Doctor to trying and save Gallifrey and who witnessed 11's regeneration woes and getting a new cycle. Clara should know better than just about any companion (except Romana and River perhaps) about regeneration and various incarnations of the the Doctor.

That's a parody thread, right?

Looks like this is a spoiler. Thanks a bunch..... Hope you can sleep better now that we still don't give a damn.

Holy cow, StCoop, you sound bitter. Did he run over your dog or something?

Cool that he was willing to do the VO if true.

Is this a Moffat idea to which Smith said, "Sure!" or a case of Smith nagging Moffat to the point where he said, "Oh, okay"?

I ask, because I don't see any reason why Moffat couldn't and wouldn't say "No, Matt, no!" if Smith kept nagging at him.

Definitely spoilery content, so I've amended the thread title on the forum index.

To be honest, I never did like Smith's doctor much and find it unneeded that he's making a cameo in Capaldi's first episode. Plus I hate Hipsters.

I got to agree, having a Doctor's predecessor show up in his premiere to "legitimize" the new guy is a bit of a disservice to the new Doctor. All the passing the torch stuff should be handled in the regeneration scene (and has been). In a Doctor's premiere he should make a bold declaration of "I'm the Doctor now. Deal with it." Kind of like what Matt Smith himself did in The Eleventh Hour when he walked through the holographic representation of Tennant's face.

Don't you think it's a bit premature to say how it "should be", when we haven't seen anything of the episode itself?
