networks' fall schedule 2010-11

I clearly watch to much TV, so here is what I would watch if I lived in the states

Sunday - The Simpson's, The Cleveland Show, Family Guy, American Dad & CSI Miami

Monday
- House & How I Meet Your Mother

Tuesday - No Ordinary Family, NCIS & NCIS LA

Wednesday - Criminal Minds

Thursday - The Big Bang Theory, Shit my Dad Says, 30 Rock, CSI & The Mentalist

Friday - Medium, Smallville, CSI NY & Supernatural

also

Monday > Thursday - The Daily Show & The Colbert Report

HBO has a number of shows that I'd like to see or continue seeing, but will likely catch on DVD (Treme, Boardwalk Empire, Luck, Curb Your Enthusiasm).

Showtime has Californication and Dexter, which I'll also continue to watch on DVD.

SyFy has Stargate Universe, which clearly indicates I'm a masochist, and Caprica. I'll probably watch those online.

Makes the decision whether or not to get cable in the fall an easy one.

I'm getting Showtime again this fall, for Dexter. Wow, if I'd waited, I would have been totally spoiled on the ending due to a certain actor being cast in a new pilot, which gives away the fact that something happened to that character - which weirdly enough, is exactly the type of spoiler (though not specifically for that character) that I was afraid of, and got Showtime to avoid (maybe I'm psychic but probably it's just paranoia). All the spoiler coding in the world can't prevent that from tripping ya up!

Since we're talking about pay cable, who's checked out Party Down (Starz)? It's surprisingly funny, a bit like a lightweight Curb Your Enthusiasm, but from the other end of the Hollywood food chain. The premise is that it's about a bunch of wannabe actors, writers, comedians, who are forced into the indignity of working for a party catering service because they are all failures. It's got a great cast and writing/acting that has a sharp sense of timing. Ed Begley Jr. was the guest star on one episode, and stole the show.
