Netflix: Xbox 360 or PS3?

So I'm thinking about joining Netflix, but I'm not sure if I should use their service on Xbox Live or the PlayStation Network. Are there any major differences between the two? Does anyone know if there's any comparison?

If you want to have Netflix on the PS3 you have to get a disk from Netflix and have the disk in the drive, while on the 360 it's just a program you launch from the dashboard.

Other then that I don't know of any differences.

As stated by Kaijufan you need to have to do disk swapping with the PS3 for now (kinda a pain), Not sure when M$'s deal runs out with Netflix so that The PS3 won't have to use it.

As far a the service goes I think Netflix on the Xbox is easier to navigate and has better menu options, it also seems like they are always tweaking it to make it a bit better.

That said I like the way the titles pop up better on the PS3, as you scroll across each movie it makes the box art bigger and easier to see which title you're actually on where as the Xbox version has an odd angle on it.

I also like the way the PS3 version gives the movie info as you just have to thumb stick down. The info also seems a bit more detailed but I've never done a side by side comparison to see if it is.

Honestly it's six of one, half dozen of the other.
If you have both systems just try it on each and decide for yourself, The PS3 disk is free from netflix and as long as you have a gold live account it's free as well, so either way it costs you nothing extra.

I agree with this - try both and just see which one you prefer personally.

I have read that you need to have a Live Gold membership for 360. I have a friend with a PS3 and he hasn't said he's had to pay anything extra for it.

we watch A LOT of stuff on NETFLIX streaming (XBOX). We are nearing the end of LOST season five..my friend and i just watched this movie about this girl trying to get an abortion in communist yugoslavia...it was okay.

But yeah, I LOVE Xbox/Neflix streaming...and now many of the films are in HD...

Thanks for the info, guys.

Yeah, I already have a Gold membership, so that wouldn't be a problem.

I did notice a minor annoyance on the PS3 version last night.

When watching (a T.V. series for example) on the 360 version if you jump from a movie to a T.V. show or other T.V. show it picks up right where you left off.

Lemme explain.

I watch Battlestar Galactica and finish watching episode 7,then I watch Lost episode 9 then I go back to BSG it picks up at episode 8 like it should. Then If I go back to Lost and it picks up at episode 10 and so on.

On the PS3 it jumps back to episode 1 and you have to pick the next episode you want to watch.

Like I said a minor annoyance, who knows it may be corrected when the PS3 doesn't have to use the disk anymore.

Weird. My PS3 remembers where I left off.

Yeah the PS3 has a nice auto bookmark feature that works with anything from a DVD to a avi and other media.....its great to switch on your PS3 and have that DVD/AVI you were watching start right were you stopped it, no having to wait for those bloody splash screen they plaster on ever DVD.

With a DVD this will only work if you have the same DVD you had in when you stopped watching it, with AVI/HD movies stored on the Ps3 HDD it don't matter what you watched last or when, it will auto bookmark them all no matter in what order you watch them in.

Nice little feature.
