I mean, if there were no other bidders, then yeah, I'd argue against selling to Netflix as well, but selling to Paramount/Skydance or Universal would be just as contentious, if not more so. But, yeah, Ellison is employing scare tactics, but those are transparent AF.

More like David Ellison being too greedy.Yeah, when it comes to mergers like this, none of them are great to begin with. Especially when it comes to legacy studios. I think a combined Paramount + WBD would be too big. One company owning two major studios would definitely make for an industry upset. And for crying out loud, Paramount just merged with Skydance. Don't be too greedy, Paramount.

No, that was merely their announcement that they had won the bid. It still has to go through the regulatory hurdles before it becomes approved, which would take at least a year or more. That's why Ellison thinks he can waltz in with some swagger and claim to offer a better deal.
My little joke idea turned into a novel while writing it up-thread. Sorry about that, it's what happens when I get creative on my day off.

The situation is the same in Türkiye; I think they're removing the old Star Trek series from Netflix worldwide.Netflix in UK is losing all Star Trek in January - it become worth less and less every month that site.
It's been around in Türkiye for 10 years. The worst part is, if Netflix stops airing, there's no platform to watch it on, except for piracy.Over here I swear the Star Trek shows TOS,DS9,VOY,ENT has been on Netflix for well over a decade. So weird not to be able to watch random episode whenever I want. I assume Paramount+ will have all of it but the quality on that site is awful compared to Netflix.
