Nero's wife???

There IS no story! It's all flashy graphics and boom, and going against Gene's vision of Star Trek and Star Trek isn't about being married. In fact, Kirk wasn't married and had a kid out of wedlock and wives aren't canon WAAAAAH.

But seriously, yeah, could add another aspect to it.

Wonder if Nero's wife will have the same ugly tattoo on her face that he does.

I realize you're half-kidding (but also perhaps half serious?) when you posted this, but...

...Why would would you think she might have a tattoo. I have a friend with a relatively large tattoo on his back/shoulder area, but his wife has no tattoos at all...in fact I bet there are a lot of people in this world who are tattoo-less, even though their spouse has one.

I read somewhere that all Romulans in the movie were supposed to have tattoos, to differentiate them from the Vulcans. So I'm wondering if The Wife will have the same ugly one as Nero, or a different one.

Rumors have it that Nero has spent some time inside. The tattoo might be a typical convict thing on Romulus just like in various Earth prison cultures. And supposedly Nero's henchmen are fellow convicts. Whether Nero found his special other in this jail is a different question...

You know, Nero sound more "awesome" each time we hear more about him.

The married convicted tattooed time-travelling Romulan and his pet Space Octopus.

Since shes not featured in anything we've seen so far, possibly only featured in a flashback and we see Nero being held at a Klingon concentration camp, could she have been held there too or killed in whatever incident sent him there?

This could explain a few things about him.

As opposed to the convicted frozen married megalomaniac Human and his band of followers?

You mean:
"the convicted frozen married megalomaniac genetically-engineered super-Human from 20th century and his band of followers?"

...back to Scottie Thompson: I've seem her on NCIS and she is truly a hottie. She has an exotic look that would lend herself well to being a Romulan.

(I would have said "Scottie is a Hottie", but people might misinterpret that, this being a Star Trek board and all, and get the wrong impression of me)

correct me if im wrong folks, but i remember hearing somewhere that the tat on the romulans is more of an outward showing of grief, like how some people cut their hair when they lose something.
so to answer The Wormhole's question no she wouldn't have one, cause (I'm assuming) she did die on Romulus and would have no reason to be grieving at the time.

You're right: Countdown ("but it's not canon! Waaa!") says it's an ancient Romulan tradition when a loved one dies to shave your head and 'paint your grief' with ancient symbols on your face. The idea is that everyone will know you're grieving, and by the time your hear grows back and the pain fades (or...you wash) you'll be over it.

Of course since his whole world died (and he's so badass) Nero and his buddies tattoed their patterns in.

Anyway - didn't we *see* Nero's wife in the film? The hologram he was showing to Captain Pike? Wasn't he YELLING that his wife died to Pike? Or was I watching a different film?

Yes, we get a few shots of his wife in a hologram in the Pike scene
