Nero's Timeship named 'Narada'

Narada the Space Octopus kind of has a ring to it.

The Adventures of Commander Nero and Narada the Space Octopus. Someone photoshop a poster.

Remans using the name Scimitar doesn't mean it had anything to do with a sword. Concider that maybe they just happened to have that same word in their vocabulary, but meaning something totally different. Since they didn't show the word written down in Nemesis, it might not have even been spelled the same in Reman.

I suggest as a reference point for such artists "The Contrabulous Fabtraption of Professor Horatio Hufnagel" starring Troy McClure.

i have huge issues with alien characters talking english on their own planets or ships. I know it's done for the audience benefit, but I'd prefer subtitles.

It wasn't until after I logged out last night I thought of doing something just like that only "Captain Emo and the Space Octopus of Doom" but again, I'm beaten to it.

Anyhoo, Narada, sounds pretty cool a name to me.

I was kinda hoping (since James Bond is 'in vogue' again) that the ship would be called the "Octopussy"...

...of course "Octopussy" would just be an Anglicization of the Romulan name "Oc'tupossus", which coincidentally enough means "Eight Va-jay-jays" in Romulan.

There's nothing wrong with the name Schimitar. The UT probably decided that the literal translation "Long curved Reman sword similar to Earth Schimitar" was too long and just went for the obvious substitute.
