Nero wanted to destroy the Federation right?

When Nero was atacking Starfleet HQ why didn't he launch his missiles all across earths major cities just in case he failed in destroying earth? A scorched earth policy so to speak. That's what I would have done anyway.

... because he was a stupid, one dimensional villain who's motivation didn't make any sense at all.

And he's a copycat! The Dominion already attacked San Francisco. Or will have attacked, whatever, frakkin temporal mechanics. At least we managed to hit the bridge.

Actually, the protracting firebombing of Japan did far more damage than the nukes did.

In the analogy, Hiroshima alone is Earth, not Japan. I doubt firebombs did more damage than nukes to that particular spot.
For what it's worth, the Tokyo firebombing of 9-10 March 1945 killed 20,000 more people than Fat Man over Nagasaki, albeit with 334 more B-29s. Granted, fatalities from the deployment of Little Boy over Hiroshima were greater than the March Tokyo attacks, up to 140,000 for Hiroshima compared to circa 100,000.

I think some people think the Valentine's Day 1945 attack on Dresden killed as many as 100,000, as well.

I still say most of the torpedoes missed, but British Columbia doesn't exist anymore. Also: you needed the Breen to do it. :p

"That particular spot", as cultcross put it, was selected specifically because it had not previously been the target of air raids, whether using incendiaries or otherwise; it was a blank slate, so to speak, upon which a lesson to the Japanese command was to be written, so -- while it did make a wryly ironic picture -- I'm not sure the analogy holds up very well. Now, I think that any continuation of this particular tangent, fascinating though it may be, would be better carried out in its own thread (and in an appropriate forum), unless it relates more directly to the topic of this one.

The Whale Probe did a nice number on SF too.

We talked about this before; as I said, it's past time for Europe to get its share of attacks. How about a nice scene with Le Tour Eiffel toppling over or something. There's a Starfleet or Federation center in France.

They should attack the Eiffel Tower and have it fall over right onto the Arch Du Triumph..just like that scene in Team America. The cobblestones should look like little croissants.

I think paramount was saving that for G.I.JOE :THE RISE OF COBRA:p
