^It's possible. The engagement for which he was decorated took place last year.

He was actually named Badass of the week a couple of months ago. (This week's badass: the Megalodon!)

It's been around for a while. The incident in question occurred back in September 2010 and, as Goliath noted, Sgt. Pun was given an award a couple of months ago - Holdfast posted a rather droll thread about it in this forum around the same time. (See source article here.) I'm pretty sure that the Sergeant has always been a Gurkha, though I seem to recall another story making the rounds in recent months concerning an unarmed off-duty policeman (possibly also Asian?) opening up an can of extra-strength kickass on multiple attackers who were robbing/terrorizing passengers on a commuter train.

Sort of reminds me of the Sgt Alvin York ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alvin_C._York ) story....which was popularized in a Gary Cooper movie ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sgt_York ) for which Gary Cooper won his first Best Actor Oscar.
