Neil Gaiman's "Coraliine"
(film)
(book)
is coming to theaters in Feb 2009. It;s the story of a young girl who finds a secret passageway from her bedroom into another rather twisted version of her world. Because I enjoyed "Stardust" so much, I'm rather intrigued by this film's possibility.

In the course of researching the film , I came across Coraline.com. Go to that site and enter "sweaterxxs" (for "sweater extra, extra small"). It starts up a brief documentary short about a lady who knits and crafts miniatures, part of the theme of the story.

It's that stop-motion animation ala "The Nightmare Before Christmas" that really caught my eye at first. Did you go out to the Coraline site and enter that code?

I love the book. I'm hoping the movie will keep the same tone and story. Judging from the trailer I saw last night, I think there's a good chance it will.

ETA: Some more codes you can enter...

stopmotion : the Biggest Smallest movie ever made.
buttoneyes : Meet the cast...
moustachio : Bo Henry, art director of Coraline, shows off his remarkable moustache tricks.
armpithair : Every hair in the film was placed there by hand...
puppetlove : Director Henry Selick explains what it must be like for the puppets in the film.
sweaterxxs : Micro-knitting. That's right: micro-knitting
