Needless to say this didn't work and everybody died

Can anyone place where this phrase is from? I keep seeing it pop up in people's signatures and profiles but I can't seem to place it on Google. It's driving me nuts.

I have a vague recollection of it being on Kids in the Hall or Saturday Night Live but those terms + that phase don't turn anything up.

Google suggests:

[yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r58whTr6EmY[/yt]

(based on the original school essay by Jeremy Lavine (highly likely to be apocryphal and/or hoax))

^^ Needless to say, this isn't funny and nobody laughed.

Obviously not really written by a child, with the snarky reference to “scientists, diplomats, McSalad Shakers, and George Bush Jr.” and the word “satiate,” which isn't in the vocabulary of most grade-schoolers.

Thanks Alidar. I'm beginning to think that essay was the original place that I saw the phrase. I'm sure I've been that site before. For some reason I have this image of a Kids in the Hall skit with Dave Foley explaining how he responded completely inappropriately to some kind of disaster ending with the punchline "needless to say this didn't work and everyone died". I think that I've juxtaposed two different things. Anyway that would have made a funny skit.

I think I'm going to have to start dropping this expression randomly into conversations. And legal briefs.

I think they/he did say something along those lines in a sketch...
