Need name suggestions...

L ocamotive
A utomaton
Z aftig
Y awl

Okay, that last letter is streching the definition a bit...

Yeah, that's stretching it a bit. LOL Lazy is a good name for me; that's why I bought a Roomba.

Call it Exocomp after the little robots that formed sentinence in TNG episode The Quality of Life. I personally like those. Also, your new device works alot like one of them; it performs maintainence and is capable of basic intelligent thought (self-navigation).

That one's got real possibilities. I'd probably end up calling it Exo.

Hey, I've finally figured out how to quote two different posts in one! Let's see if it works like I mean it to...

[Worf] Minsk [/Worf]

I don't remember... Is that where Worf grew up?

Yeah, he grew up there, and in the DS9 finale everyone was giving O'Brien advice on where he and the family should live on Earth and Worf just kept saying Minsk. I got a chuckle out of it.

Cute; I can picture Worf doing that. I didn't see much of the last season of DS9. Maybe after I finish going through TOS in order (just finished Season 2), I'll start on DS9.

I like Fred. Any particular reason you came up w/ that?
It's short, easy to remember, and it's my standard response to "what should we call this?"-type questions.

Fred (the) Roomba -- you could do worse.

LOL re "Only the last letter?"
I was having a little trouble working out how a Roomba could possibly be zaftig. Tharp's got a rather unique sense of humor, though; the rest of us don't always get it.

And I had a professor named Fred whom I really liked and admired. This is quite promising.

Along a similar vein, I've thought of Andy. Short and easy, and the name of a psychiatrist whom I liked and admired. Since a clean house contributes to my emotional well-being, one might say that the Roomba serves a therapeutic purpose. :)

I can't believe no one has suggested 1812 yet. That was my first thought - Crichton's pet DRD! :D
