Need advice on pain killers

Is there anyone else here who can't take ibuprofen? If I take it I violently vomit within minutes.

I also can't take asprin because it can cause me to have an asthma attack. I fact any nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs can cause my asthma to worsen.

So all I can take for my arthritis is paracetamol.

I long for the day when Demerol is OTC.

I'd settle for being able to buy Tylenol with codeine (222s) OTC. Any other country sells them. No, here, you have to go to the doctor who lectures you.

I have rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia and degenerating disks. Advil, Tylenol, regular aspirin do absolutely nothing to help.

Therefore, doctor, and drug Puritan America, take your lectures and shove it up your ass. As for the War on Drugs? We lost. Decades ago. Declare peace so people with pain conditions can get treatment without the fucking hassle.

^^have you checked your area and insurance to see if you can go to a pain clinic.??

as for me..
for some odd reason i do better on aleve then a generic naproxen.
some of the generics seem to have extra junk added in.
i especially like the aleve gel caps.
though my docs are different about the pain meds.
when my pain levels increased they gave me lortab.
now i dont like taking it so i only take it when things get bad.

what really has helped some of the arthritis is kenalog shots.
also doing therapy in a 92 degree pool helps.

as for the original sore on the foot..
different people just react differently to different drugs.
but you might want to consider a light dressing to pad it.
something like a guaze pad.

What's annoying too is those dosage recommendation for OTC's are based on the lowest working dosage for a 110lb. woman. I am a 260lb. man. I'd need three for a hangnail. Yet they try and make you believe that going above the recommended dosage is dangerous.

We had a compounding pharmacist years ago who made a gel that you could rub on your sore area and get the FDA recommended dose of whatever pain killer he used (I can't recall which) but get the benefit just where you needed it instead of throughout the body.

The stuff was great but he stopped making it because of legal concerns.
