Need a new signature drink

Every so often, I pick a drink that, when I'm at a bar (and have money, so I'm not getting a Cuba Libre or something with rail vodka in it), I like to order. It's also a drink I like to make when I'm at home and recommend to others. Originally (in pre-bar days) it was Gin and Tonic. Then it was a White Russian. Then it became a Long Island Iced Tea, and then a Long Beach Iced Tea (less people have had them before, so they always appreciate the suggestion).

Unfortunately, I'm getting sick of ordering LITs (and LBTs). So now I need a new drink. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm not opposed to something slightly girly, provided

If the bar has mint leaves, you could be a Mojito guy for a while.

Or be the weird dude who orders a Cosmo.

The real questions are: how strong do you like your drinks, and what liquors do you actually enjoy? If you like bourbons and whiskeys, you could order Manhattans or Old Fashioneds. If you like tequila, you could be a margarita drinker for a while.

For slightly girly, you could get a flavored vodka and lemonade. Absolut Raspberry and Lemonade is frickin delicious.

I don't drink straight whiskey, but I do like Whiskey Sours, so I'm good if something else can take the edge off. I like strong drinks, but I don't like to drink something that tastes only like alcohol. I'm pretty good with other liquors. Gin, Vodka, Tequila all are fine. AstroSmurph, Amaretto is great, but a bit expensive.

I also love Mojitos, but I've only made them once (for a group of about 10 people). It was kind of a pain to squeeze that many limes and muddle that much mint (yeah, I know I could cheat and get lime juice, but I wanted to go legit). I'm trying to go for something I can both get at a bar and make myself.

Jagerbombs. :p

77 Sunset Strip would be a unique one that would throw people off. There might be different recipes out there, but the one I know is this:

Vodka, Gin, Rum, Triple Sec, Pineapple Juice, Sprite, and grenadine. Kind of like an LIT, but with pineapple juice and Sprite instead of Sour and Coke.

Or Screwdrivers! I love a good Screwdriver.

Is that splash of pineapple to equal the splash of coke or is a little bit more? That's at least an interesting drink I've never heard before.

The proportions of Pineapple/Sprite and the same as Sweet&Sour/Coke in a LIT, so there is more Pineapple than Sprite.

Other random things you could drink:

Cape Codder: vodka & cranberry juice
Gimlet: Either vodka or gin and Lime juice
Tequila Sunrise: tequila, orange juice, and grenadine
Washington Apple: Crown Royale, Apple Pucker, and Cranberry Juice (often served as a shot, but it's easy to turn into a cocktail)

Hawaiian Volcano: Vodka, Southern Comfort, Amaretto, Pineapple Juice, Orange Juice, a dash of lime juice, and grenadine. It tastes like fruit punch!

These are incredible.

AJ, have you tried a Mudslide? Bailey's, Kahlua, Smirnoff, and cream.

Ooh, all good choices (except Dirty Martinis, those are just disgusting :p ). Gives me a lot to think about.

Alabama Slammer:
1/2 oz vodka
1/2 oz Southern Comfort
1/2 oz amaretto
1/2 oz sloe gin
orange juice

Melon Ball:
1/4 oz melon liqueur
1/4 oz pineapple juice
1/2 oz vodka

Fire Engine:
2 shots vodka
1 shot grenadine
orange juice

Can you tell I like things with vodka in them?

Since you seem in tune with Italian culture and language, what about these?

Bellini (prosecco wine and peach juice)
Americano (Campari bitter, sweet vermouth, soda)
Negroni (Campari bitter, sweet vermouth, gin)
Martini & Coke (sweet vermouth, coke)

They are easy to make and delicious.

My goto drink lately has been Weed and Lemonade (a John Daily in some circles). It can be a little dangerous, 'cuz you cannot taste the alcohol and they taste HORRIBLE coming back up, so you really have to make an effort not to overdo it.
