OK, here's the deal, Newbie. This bit of snark launched this petty interpersonal bickering. This isn't the place for it. Make it not so.

So it is - good catch. The "only death penalty" thing throws me off, since it applies to both.
Chekov mentioned it in "Turnabout Intruder" as the only remaining thing that had the death penalty - but the episode didn't even tell us what it was for. Probably, Chekov screwed up and meant to say 7.
He's making a joke. It's sarcasm. You may not like it or even understand it but it happens here all the time, so if I were you, I'd get used to it.
