Neal McDonough: Vigilante Priest

Starz seems thoroughly determined to out-do both HBO and Showtime in sheer spectacle and sleaze. They're countering HBO's classy Game of Thrones with what sounds like a thoroughly outrageous Camelot (Merlin as a cross between Obi-Wan Kenobi, Willy Wonka and Don Rumsfeld?), and now they're aiming the power tools at Showtime's Dexter by upping the stakes.

McDonough will take on the title role: an ex-cop turned priest who is cleaning up the streets of Los Angeles "one sinner at a time".

Hmm. I don't know about this one. I ADORE Neal McDonough, and I'm glad he bailed on "Scoundrels"--that show sucks beyond belief.

But Vigilantie Priest? Really? I'll reserve my judgment until I see some of it.

Ooo Neal! Well, he perked up "Tin Man", I suppose he can perk up pretty much anything. I'll watch. And if you'll allow me a shallow moment, he would look so bleedin hot in his vestments. <drool>

^ I like those cheesy 80s series.

I can just imagine how this one will go....

<points gun> Vaya con Dios <kills someone>

Maybe it will a real-life version of Los Dias y Las Noches de Monsignor Martinez from King of the Hill.

Ahh, but does Vigilante Priest mean a priest who uses vigilante tactics, shooting or beating people while acting hypocritically pious... or a vigilante who uses priest tactics, confronting criminals and talking them out of committing crimes with sermons of love and forgiveness? ;)
