Here's what I hope: That we're not going to see yet another female regular/recurring character bumped off.[/QUOTE]

dunno - has anyone heard anything about Cote De Pablo wanting to leave the show for a movie career?

Re: NCIS: "The Death of Leroy Jethro Gibbs" 5/19 - Grading & Discussio

You should never leave a successful TV show for a movie career unless you ALREADY HAVE A MOVIE CAREER. Katherine Heigl could leave Grey's Anatomy. T.R. Knight should not.

Re: NCIS: "The Death of Leroy Jethro Gibbs" 5/19 - Grading & Discussio

NCIS doesn't just investigate deaths though. It's all criminal acts committed by Naval and Marine personnel. Even JAG remembered that the show was about lawyers half of the time, and it's not like every case on JAG involved some marine killing another marine.

Yeah, but JAG had a lot of espionage, too, no? I never watched it but I have family that did and they told me there was a bit of spy stuff in it.

Yeah, like the episode where Mac and the CIA Agent went undercover together in South America.

Re: NCIS: "The Death of Leroy Jethro Gibbs" 5/19 - Grading & Discussio

Above average, but I agree that the spy crap is getting old. A terrorist wanting to know everything about NCIS? Yeah right.
I don't think it's a terrorist. I think the guy was Mossad.

This question might be quite ignorant...but would an Israeli officer wear that scarf? It looked like a keffiyeh.

Re: NCIS: "The Death of Leroy Jethro Gibbs" 5/19 - Grading & Discussio

I think this season maybe a quarter of the episodes were actually about a case. The last one I can even remember is the one where some foster mom convinces some marines to steal weapons for her. I mean, it's called Criminal Investigation Service. Investigate some crimes already.

Huh? They were pretty much all about a case barring maybe seven episodes out of the 25.

For my own interests I've always like the personal episodes more such as "Requiem."

Most of them begin with a case and then devolves into terrorist crap... or even worse - the red herring episodes that are meant to be "character" episodes, like Ducky being stabbed or Abby making a bioweapon or whatever.

I want Tony to be stuck on a carrier again... because at least then there were dudes in uniform on the show.

Denise Crosby? Is that you?

no it's Sascha Alexander actually :)

It's just common sense. A successful acting gig on TV is difficult to score, especially when so many TV shows are short-lived or never even see the light of day. Suddenly people know who David Caruso is because of NYPD Blue, he makes a movie where he's the lead and then wants off the show to pursue a movie career (which basically died with his very next movie he left the show to make) before that movie's even come out?

If you want a movie career, you make movies in between seasons and they need to be successful so that you know you'll be getting more roles.

Chris Noth probably won't become a movie star, but he knows he can land at least one movie a year that pays better than an entire (half) season of Criminal Intent.

What's Sasha Alexander been in since she left NCIS? Mission: Impossible III for 20 seconds?

Re: NCIS: "The Death of Leroy Jethro Gibbs" 5/19 - Grading & Discussio

Wasn't her reasoning really that she couldn't handle the intense shooting schedule?

Given that Mark Harmon almost quit the show himself, maybe it was more Bellesario's fault than Alexander's.

or the start of one season where Harm was of flying for the CIA.

What ever her reason Bellisario wasn't happy hence Kate going out the way she did.

As for Harmon's threatened departure that came a couple of years later and was related to Bellisario as the show runner. Harmon was getting pissed that scripts would come late and that caused other issues. End result Bellisario is shifted out and Harmon is now a producer on the show.

Since they said that the suspected terrorist camp was in North Africa, the scene showed Ziva tied up in Somalia (which isn't really NORTH Africa but...), and the guy was wearing that scarf, then it would be pretty odd that he'd be Mossad. And why would a Mossad guy do that to the director's daughter?

Terrorist in my book.

Re: NCIS: "The Death of Leroy Jethro Gibbs" 5/19 - Grading & Discussio

Above average with a good final twist. Frankly, though, I wouldn't mind Ziva not coming back.

Re: NCIS: "The Death of Leroy Jethro Gibbs" 5/19 - Grading & Discussio

I really enjoyed the episode. It had some great character moments and a shocking ending. I don't the mind the spy stuff. It brings some nice suspense. Some of the criminal cases stuff can get a little hard to watch after awhile because they often deal with really gruesome behavior like serial rapes or cannibalism. So, some spy stuff is a nice change of pace once in awhile.

It wouldn't be the first time. Those things are beneficial if you are in the sun or likely to be firing weapons or around those who are (they keep the brass out of your shirt). I know some private security contractors in Iraq who wore them.

Re: NCIS: "The Death of Leroy Jethro Gibbs" 5/19 - Grading & Discussio

I just figured that when they were presenting this character in only a few seconds that it would be a weird costuming choice if they wanted us to think he was Israeli.

Re: NCIS: "The Death of Leroy Jethro Gibbs" 5/19 - Grading & Discussio

I did think this episode was good, however, it sucked in the end. Now Ziva's off to god knows where and getting beat up by some punk. And what made me mad is she didn't beleive Tony when he told her that he was trying to protect her. If a guy who looked like THAT told me he was protecting me, I'd grab him!
I don't like Vance either..I think he's an arrogant SOB..he split up the group last season and it pissed me off!!!!! What were the writers thinking?! I think every finale from NCIS kinda stunk to some degree..I mean, let's face it: between Kate's death, and Lauren Holly's character being killed off, I don't know what's worse. I just hope that Ziva somehow comes back to NCIS and becomes part of their team and not a part of the Mossad team.

Re: NCIS: "The Death of Leroy Jethro Gibbs" 5/19 - Grading & Discussio

Am I the only one who is starting to question if vance is really who he is, or if he's one of those "legends" they mentioned in the spin off eps.

I mean, he's a Marine with Gibbs, he's a computer nerd with McGee, he's got some chopps when it came to abby's line of work...

Re: NCIS: "The Death of Leroy Jethro Gibbs" 5/19 - Grading & Discussio

I think it was a given that Vance isn't Vance based on the one episode that was based around him, and that the man they were burying was the real Vance.
