Just kidding about the episode title. :p

After Tony's confrontation with Rivkin, the NCIS team flies to Israel for a final showdown, where they aren't exactly welcome by Ziva's father, the head of Mossad. Gibbs has to make a tough choice as the situation gets even more complicated.

CBS gave us 25 NCIS episodes this season. Yay!!!

Re: NCIS: "The Death of Leroy Jethro Gibbs" 5/19 - Grading & Discussio

Please let this be the end of the Mossad crap. I don't care if we still end up stuck with Ziva next year, as long as she gets kicked out of Mossad or something and just becomes a regular ol' NCIS agent.

Re: NCIS: "The Death of Leroy Jethro Gibbs" 5/19 - Grading & Discussio

Above Average. I loved the ending but all and all just Above average.

Re: NCIS: "The Death of Leroy Jethro Gibbs" 5/19 - Grading & Discussio

I'm giving it an excellent just for the last 5 seconds... I wonder if her father knew she'd end up there...

Otherwise, I would have said average. Lot of exposition, but not enough actually happening...

Re: NCIS: "The Death of Leroy Jethro Gibbs" 5/19 - Grading & Discussio

Ugh, move all the spy crap to NCIS 2.0 please. Somehow NCIS is now the center of the intelligence universe and it's getting ridiculous now. :p

Re: NCIS: "The Death of Leroy Jethro Gibbs" 5/19 - Grading & Discussio

Too much spy crap, too much Vance (I hate that character and I don't mean in a good way), and too much all around character angst.

But then again, NCIS season finales usually stink, so it lived up (or down, I guess) to my expectations. The season finale seems to be a bad place to be a female lead character, doesn't it?

Re: NCIS: "The Death of Leroy Jethro Gibbs" 5/19 - Grading & Discussio

Damn, I was kind of hoping the ghost of Ari Haswari would come back to take his revenge.

In the NCIS world with friends like The Mossad, who needs enemies.

He probably had an idea but I don't think he really gave a damn.

I took it that he knew from the dialogue of the last five minutes or so. His looking at the photo told me that he knew she was going to be captured and interrogated. Plus wasn't there something in the previous episode about them trying to infiltrate NCIS or something along those lines?

Re: NCIS: "The Death of Leroy Jethro Gibbs" 5/19 - Grading & Discussio

Above average, but I agree that the spy crap is getting old. A terrorist wanting to know everything about NCIS? Yeah right.

Personally I hope this kills all the Ziva/Tony stuff too. I like their banter but the mature thing to do would be to show that they can no longer have a working relationship and have Tony deal with the consequences.

Re: NCIS: "The Death of Leroy Jethro Gibbs" 5/19 - Grading & Discussio

On the plus, Ziva killing Ari being something planned to get on Gibbs' good side was a nice twist.

On the minus, Gibbs was given the chance to ask who Leon really was and didn't.

The way Palmer was sitting at Tony's desk, I was half expecting him to be assigned to the team.

Also, it looks like Jack Bauer was wrong! Tony Almeida was actually framing a real terrorist into being a terrorist fall guy! :p

Though I have no sympathy for Ziva. Rivkin was told to get out of the U.S by Gibbs, by DiNozzo and was comitting crimes on U.S soil.

She should of told him to fuck off, not fuck him.

So it should she who faces the consequences not Tony.

Re: NCIS: "The Death of Leroy Jethro Gibbs" 5/19 - Grading & Discussio

I know that what Tony tried to do by taking care of Rivkin was right; I'm not disputing that. But he still killed a guy she loved and even though he was doing his job, he was motivated in no small part by jealousy. From Ziva's point of view that has to be something that forever alters their working relationship.

Re: NCIS: "The Death of Leroy Jethro Gibbs" 5/19 - Grading & Discussio

I thought it was a good episode. Not quite up to par with some of their previous ones, it still felt more like setup than payoff, but good all the same.

I have to disagree with others in here and say that I do enjoy it when they do the spy stuff from time to time. That aspect was there right from the start of the show when they dealt with terrorist threats so if it went away completely it would be weird. And before someone says that the real NCIS wouldn't do this let's just remember that the real NCIS has like 0 deaths to investigate a year. This show has never been about being realistic nor does it act like it is.

Re: NCIS: "The Death of Leroy Jethro Gibbs" 5/19 - Grading & Discussio

NCIS doesn't just investigate deaths though. It's all criminal acts committed by Naval and Marine personnel. Even JAG remembered that the show was about lawyers half of the time, and it's not like every case on JAG involved some marine killing another marine.

Yeah, but JAG had a lot of espionage, too, no? I never watched it but I have family that did and they told me there was a bit of spy stuff in it.

Re: NCIS: "The Death of Leroy Jethro Gibbs" 5/19 - Grading & Discussio

Oh god yes, it got ridiculous after season 5 or so... but not this silly.

Like I said before. If they want to make a James Bond show, just make one. Call it Navy Intelligence or CIA or MI6 or whatever and just move DiNozzo and Ziva over there. I just don't understand how they're going to deal with having two special agent NCIS spy shows on the air at the same time. Like, which is supposed to be more dramatically important? Israeli crap on NCIS or Russian crap on NCIS 2.0?

Is this as ridiculous as CSIs carrying guns and shooting suspects? Maybe... but at least the CSIs aren't going undercover to try to bust up French terrorists selling weapons to Israeli nationalists selling centox gas to Jack Bauer.

I think this season maybe a quarter of the episodes were actually about a case. The last one I can even remember is the one where some foster mom convinces some marines to steal weapons for her. I mean, it's called Criminal Investigation Service. Investigate some crimes already.

Re: NCIS: "The Death of Leroy Jethro Gibbs" 5/19 - Grading & Discussio

On a side note, is there any nationality Arnold Vosloo HASN'T played yet?

Huh? They were pretty much all about a case barring maybe seven episodes out of the 25.

For my own interests I've always like the personal episodes more such as "Requiem."

I don't think it's a terrorist. I think the guy was Mossad.

Here's what I hope: That we're not going to see yet another female regular/recurring character bumped off.
