NCC-1701 Shipyard Back Online

I must be missing what the purpose of having a star destroyer sized starship would be. Why do the starships need to be so big exactly?

I seem to remember a magazine that said that a Star Destoyer was six miles long thus stil bigger. It has since been described as a mile to a kilometer long. Too me, that seems a bit too small, even if it matches the small M Falcon on the back of the bridge tower.

Large size means deeper runs in space, a large atmosphere, longer legs--greater crew health.

Carpe Occasio, what you're doing here is technically spamming per board rules. Go back and edit your first post or wait until a day passes before posting more.

I think in this case it's OK, Mutai, and anyway I don't think he's able to edit a post any longer, once 24 hours have passed.

Carpe has been a participant here since before the last movie came out, and has been running a version of this nuTrek-related website for most of that time (popular enough that, when the site went offline for a bit, people noticed.) There's not always a huge amount of in-thread discussion between updates, but the number of thread-views suggests that when he does announce an update, there are more than a few people heading over there (via the in-thread link) to have a look at what he's added.

Rearranged the site a little. Added a number of new images to Into Darkness and ST 2009. Also removed some lesser quality images. One removed image is now a hidden link.

Huh, her nacelles are upgraded, the fins don't rise anymore, they have segmented openings, cool.

Not sure what happened. New images not looking so good on website (look fine on my end.) Working on a fix.
