I think Clemson is going to have to go through both Oklahoma and then Alabama. That isn't fun. Tough draw for the #1 seed.
The attempt to capture New Years Eve as a "College Football Day" showed a 36% hit on ratings compared to last years games. Ouch.

That was pretty bad and I saw last year's bowl game against us. That said, Iowa did well later they just let too big of a lead develop early on.
As for the blowouts in this year's bowls... I enjoyed them but that was purely because Tennessee blew out NU and Michigan blew out UF. New Year couldn't have started much better than that. In truth, UF should've never been paired against UM. Florida's been hot garbage since they lost their PED-enhanced QB and had to have referee help and an act of God (seriously it started to downpour out of the blue and then stopped after FAU's possession in OT) just to beat FAU. UF-NU and UT-UM would've made for better bowls than the pairings we got. There have just been a lot of mismatches all bowl season. I think the bowls need more leeway in their choices.
Now onto the last bowl.....
Congrats to Alabama for winning yet another championship. It seems like they're turning into the Yankees or Patriots of college football.
I didn't watch the whole game, but I did see the onside kick and you can't get anymore perfect than that.
The Yankees, imo, and they've been that way for a while. Bama has had the number 1 recruiting class every single year for 6-7 years. They SHOULD be winning with that kind of recruiting. Recruiting is comically imbalanced when it comes to Bama versus everyone else.
The only way to describe it is that Bama gets to take 20-25 1st round draft picks (however, many they're taking in any given class) and everyone else is stuck with 2nd rounders Bama passed on as their best hope AND a random assignment of picks and rounds (IOW, the rest might 1 second rounder and 20 5th rounders or any other combo and keep in mind there are 128 FBS teams fighting for what Bama passes on and that talent gets divvied up between them). That's how Saban has built this dynasty and why they rarely lose -- they're more talented than every single team they play and it's not close.
