NBC is reviving Heroes

Well, this is a bit different because it's a relaunch or sequel. Plus, I don't think we know what parts the old characters will play in the story-- they may be just passing the torch. Even in the original concept, it was probably likely that some of the characters-- like HRG-- would carry over, while others-- like Sylar-- would not.

Same Shit, Different Decade.

That would be so anti-climactic after all this. Surely they have learnt from the mistakes of the previous show (unless they're just cashing in on the good will and love people have for the old show and have no intention of doing anything new with it). That's a depressing thought

i'd agree (and perfect examples)..that would make the most sense. I don't think it's necessary for everyone to be cutoff right away.

Heroes reminded me of what happened to Glee -- they should have let certain characters (i.e. that year's seniors) go, and focus on other characters. If the targeted "going" group were really popular, they could easily do a spinoff (or a between season show).

According to Wikipedia, only HRG and the Haitian are main cast. The rest of the returning characters are guest stars, so we probably are getting to see what it would have been like if they had followed the original concept.

I think NBC got greedy and screwed up by putting Heroes Reborn in the fall when it should be a summer show like what was originally planned.

I mean that GODAWFUL Under the Dome show on CBS gets good ratings just because nothing else is on in the summer, and will probably get 10 seasons before it ends.

I have to wonder if it was just all the hype that made them decide to move it to fall. I still kind of question how well it's going to do once it's actually on the air. There's been a lot of talk about it coming back, but a lot of talk doesn't always mean a lot of viewers.

Well, like anything else, all we can do is cross our fingers. Even if we just get one good season, it will be nice closure to a show that started off magnificently and then stumbled off a cliff.

Stumbled off a cliff? More like...

They are building off of the end of the last season, but I don't know if it will be just the basic concept or specific parts of the story.

I certainly hope they don't hand-wave away the development in the last scene of the series...that was a moment I'd been waiting for, and would like to have seen played out in the next season, had there been one.

It needs to have a beginning, a middle and an end. Don't just make shit up as you go along in an attempt to drag it out like last time. Know where you're heading and get there with the least amount of fat, as possible.

Lean, purposeful, intense, crisp story telling.

Please.

Without Claire Bennet and/or Peter Petrelli I'm not really interested. Even though I know they became a bit overpowered later on in the show, they were still the ones I found the most joy watching.

I'll give it a chance though, it's something different in a sea of mediocrity.

If you mean the powered people revealing their existance to the world, they are building the whole story of the series off of that.
