I had a feeling Parks and Rec would have it's final season, but I'm surprised they benched it. I thought they would have burned it off and then made room for a mid season show, like what happened to 30 Rock.

NBC's scripted shows cancelled in the 2013-2014 season:

Drama

Revolution - 2 seasons
Believe - 1 season
Crisis - 1 season
Dracula - 1 season
Ironside - 1 season

Comedy

Community - 5 seasons
Growing Up Fisher - 1 season
The Michael J. Fox Show - 1 season
Sean Saves the World - 1 season
Welcome to the Family - 1 season

A lot of young shows, could be an interesting playing field, I think it means it will be easy to get cut but there's also room for something new to breakthrough strong.

It amazes me that SVU made the cut. I still watch, but the whole Lewis storyline that went through this season was painful. I enjoyed that Rollins had an addiction that got played out, even if she got deus ex machined at the end, but Amaro's descent into being Stabler 2.0 and Benson's angst are boring. I do hope they find a way to keep Murphy around into next season.

Absolutely unreal that NBC only has two surviving comedies. 7 brand new ones? They're really laying all their eggs in one basket here. Especially with P&R being on it's final season.

I hope so too - Murphy's a better commander than Benson is, to be brutally honest. But since Donal Logue's off doing that Gotham thing (which probably is filming nowhere near New York), I doubt he could do both of them. :(

^ You never know. The original L&O lasted 20 seasons, and IIRC it didn't get quite as high ratings as SVU has been.

Mr. Laser Beam, the Gotham pilot was filmed in New York City.

Really? Hmm. I didn't know that. I guess I just assumed that only SVU was still filmed in New York...

so what other shows are filmed there besides these?

Many many shows have pilots that are filmed in NYC and then move to Canada or LA and pretend to be LA. Castle is one that comes to mind. It's to make the pilot look better to get picked up.

Wow. Parks and Recreation is the only NBC show I watch. I never thought about it before.

I will probably give Mission Control a try.
