NBA 2019-2020 "Parity" Bites

He was taking his daughter to a basketball practice, along with another parent with their daughter. No survivors of the crash. Absolutely tragic circumstance. :(

Jayson Tatum playing like a superstar. And only 21. Can’t believe we traded down in the draft for him. How’re Fultz and Ball working out?

I might consider waiting a bit before gloating too much, especially since as good as Jayson has been, if he can’t get the Celts past Giannis or perhaps even Siakam, Tatum’s great season won’t mean much.

BTW, u can thank Kobe for helping your guy get to the next level. :)

A huge, huge move, and probably the best move they can make. NCAA tournaments may be played in empty stadiums, but this is big.

LeBron will never bring the Lakers a title now. This was his last chance and he will be to old next year.

:) You know nothing of which you speak.

Yes, I suspect the season will resume, probably with no fans, play out what ever small number of games, and go straight into the playoffs. That would be the best case scenario, of course. This is pretty much the way they handled the abbreviated strike shortened season back in the late 90’s.

Whoever wins the championship (assuming a champion is crowned) will have an asterisk, but who cares, a ring is a ring.

Aw, that’s too bad. I’m sure we all saw Curly display what was, years ago, considered to be “incredible” ball handling skills. Curly really was a better ball handler than the NBA’s best for years.

Watching theTrotters back in the day really was like watching a precursor to today’s NBA, minus the goofy routines. Curly was probably the Trotter who most exemplified the team’s forward thinking approach to allowing individual players to display their skills.

Looking less and less likely that there will be a playoffs, the only chance seems to be if they decide to take the opportunity to permanently move the season to December-August. Which I would personally be in favor of because it'd eliminate the gap between basketball and football where baseball is the only sport on.

If the season gets canceled, probably the Bucks are the team that got the most screwed if they lose Giannis. Lakers and Clips have more chances either way.

I'm actually fine with this, and then you can move the NHL to be from September to May and not hand out the Stanley Cup in the middle of June. I've actually wondered why the NBA doesn't play during the summer months. Start the season around Christmas, have Christmas all to your selves with the quadruple header, and then play your finals in August when nothing other than Baseball is happening.

I’m sure we’ve all heard by now that the league will resume play as of 7/31 after a camp that will start in June.

They’ve put together a weird schedule that may or may not work out. If I’m wrong, someone correct me:

22 teams will resume play. 13 from west, 9 from east.

They will pick up schedule right where they left off and play the next 8 games on the schedule.

No fans. Summer league-like multi game per day schedule.

Playoffs will start after the 8 games. There will be a “play in” system that will kick in between the 8th and 9th seeds if the difference between them is 4 games or less.

NBA has a limited, but good record for innovation under Adam Silver so there is at least a chance this will work out fine.

BTW, Someone on Twitter said they went through the teams and less than half the teams the Mil Bucks have played this season are among the teams to make the 22 team bubble group. Just saying. ;)

Better than nothing, certainly.

It'll be interesting to see how this affects teams that were struggling with injuries, and teams that had way better home than away records like the 76ers.

Anyone think those live feeds of people in the crowd remind them of that episode of Black Mirror, where they did that for the talent show?
