Sure, the name of the party had "Socialist" in the title, but that was about as accurate as "Democratic People's Republic of North Korea" is today, and it lost much of its former identity when Hitler took over.
Hitler and the Nazis were in fact socialists.
I history just fine, thank you. Hitler was many things. But, in practice, his government used socialism as an economic system when it abolished labor unions and created only one labor union...the Nazi party itself.

Abolishing the trade unions allowed Hitler to destroy a group that might have opposed him. It also gave Hitler the opportunity to set up the German Labour Front, which gave him control over German workers.
