Guess we'll all have to get a DVD, especially that first week. I admit I waited and got the other 2 Narnia films months after initial release for a cheaper price than even the discounted first week's price.

I'll chip in and show my support around April/May and get the DVD. Anyone else?
 
No. My feelings for the film are ambivalent enough that I can't justify picking up this one. Which is a shame, really.

I bought the first two films on day of release, except for the extended cut of Lion, which I bought about a year after its release when I got a really good deal on the boxed set with the bookends. There's truly no reason to get the extended cut of Lion; it adds another twenty-odd minutes of New Zealand landscape and nothing essential for the story.
 
if there is a special edition dvd i'd spring for that. i usually just get bare bones unless its a movie i really like.

True, and I'm just funning here nothing more, you also predicted it would be out of theaters by end of January. It was still in 1,100 theaters this weekend.

That said.

The Tourist, which opened a week or so before Narnia just got its release date of March 22. So it could in theory come out in April. One out of two isn't bad. ;)
 
I'm very happy to see it passed the $100 million mark. :)

Now here's hoping for $400 million worldwide, cause I really want to see The Silver Chair.
 
What am I missing here... Has predicting a DVD release within a two month window become some kind of accomplishment?
 
With the updated international numbers, Dawn Treader now stands at $358.2 million worldwide ($257.587 million of that comes from international markets). It has yet to be released in Japan, so $400 million worldwide should happen.
 
I predicted that Steven Spielberg would take a shit today or tomorrow.

Whoops, sorry, thought that was the most recent international number. In fact the updated number is $267.6 million international and $368.2 million worldwide.
 
Fox's 2010 slate fared poorly, so Dawn Treader ended up being their highest grossing 2010 release, both in domestic and worldwide box office (they were fortunate that Avatar, released in December 2009, continued making so much money as its run continued into 2010 as that counteracted the losses they took on some of their expensive 2010 releases). Fox's second highest grossing 2010 release was Knight & Day, which grossed $261.9 million worldwide.
 
My prediction is that we will get the DVD in April (better have audio commentary on it or else I'm not buying it) and sometime in the summer late fall Fox will announce that they will be making "The Silver Chair."
