Name your gender and gender of the video game character you prefer

Flying Spaghetti Monster

Vice Admiral
Admiral
Ok. so I'm a guy, but almost always, if there's an option to play a female character I usually prefer that. They often move quicker. Because they tend to lack to lack strength and endurance, they are often more challenging to play. Plus, I find that they make more interesting characters story-wise. I think it was one of the resident evils (the umbrella chronicles) where you are a girl either protecting a guy (kind of a role reversal) or he is under your guard. I also as a kid always wondered why young girls would compete in fighting tournaments (as seen in many fighting games) where they are put into a ring, say, to fight an old man. Thoughts on this?

I'm a guy and I always play a guy. I don't get guys who play girls unless it's a fetish thing.

I'm a guy, and when given the choice, usually play as a guy character, and if customizable, I'll usually make him look like me.

But, if there's a stat difference between genders, I'll play as whomever has the beneficial stats that I prefer.

Like speed over strength, or acrobatics, stuff along those line.

As for Resident Evil, like you mentioned, playing as Jill was better.

I'm a guy and I usualy play the female charater, hey, if i have to look at an ass for 34-96 hours...lol

I generally play female characters if there's a choice because most games are usually based around white men. In the rare instance, it actually changes the experience... although for the most part, it doesn't.

When I used to play WoW, my main was male, but realising my mistake, I made all of my alts female because the game is populated by horny 13 year old boys and if they really believe that you're a girl you can coax a few boosts out of them by promising them pictures.

I'm a guy and I always will play as a male character in the first run and if playing as the female character actually changes things, like story options I'd give the female character a whirl for the second run, if not I normally won't bother.

Gender: Male

Video Game Gender: Doesn't matter, but tend to stick to my gender due to character variety tends to be larger for males then females.

I'm a guy, but I always play a girl if given the chance. My Fallout 3 Character is female and so is my charater in Mass Effect when I had that game. WHen I snag Borderlands one day I plan on playing as a female if it will let me.

I like being a girl because it seems easier to move throughout the game and it is funny taking on big bad tough guys and whooping their butts.

I haven't done online in a looong time but I had a similar experience in Everquest where I made a female alt just for the hell of it and found it really annoying with people trying to get to know me in RL ways.

My gender is female and I usually create/choose to play as female characters in video games; but sometimes the female characters or their classes they present are lame so I'll choose a male avatar.

I'm male.

It all depends on what kind of game I am playing, and what my mood is, as to whether or not I play a male or female character.

In general, all single player RPGs that I play, I choose to play a male character. The reason being that I like to feel immersed in the game world, and the character I play is supposed to be ME, just in the game world.

For MMOs, it all depends on the character models for the race/class I want to play. Since I have to "share" the MMO world with other players, it's not all about me, so I it's not "me" in the game world. If the game I am playing has particularly hot female character models, I will play a female because I would rather stare at a nice jiggly butt running around the screen. But if I am playing a sort of "billy bad ass" class, then I might use a really buff dude character.

For example, on Warhammer Online (on one particular server) I like to play both a Witch Elf and a Chosen. The Witch Elf is female and skanky hot. The Chosen is a burly Norse warrior. They each fit my given mood at the time.
