Name That Trek

(Aren't Dax and Crusher from the Science Division)?

Jadzia Dax and Beverly Crusher are indeed from the science division.

I will guess...B'Elanna Torres in Muse talking about putting Starfleet "Eternals" on a pedestal?

Could it be B'Elanna Torres in "Blood Fever" sniping at Vorik? He'd certainly done enough to earn it!

Holographic Torrey in Voyager's Author Author?

TORREY: Let's get one thing straight. You're not one of my shipmates. You're a tool, like this hyperspanner. And tools can be replaced. So why don't you go back to Sickbay before I start doing a little reprogramming?
- Upon saying which, she flips the hyperspanner into the air and catches it?

I apologize for not responding to your earlier guess which unfortunately doesn't hit the mark. I will contribute a slight clue, perhaps not that slight. The correct answer comes from a series in which one of the characters you were running through as possibilities appears.

I've been trying to break down our ad lib brainteaser. I think its down to two characters but that only helps minimally as there are so many moments that the step out of bounds could occur for either of them. I will volunteer that as you haven't been answered yet, I don't think that your Torrey guess is correct. I would just characterize the flip as her expressing ebullience at having been particularly snarky.

Hm. B'Elanna grumbling at Tuvok, perhaps?

I confess myself ready for an answer and a somewhat more obvious clue.

The one where everyone is asleep except for Seven of Nine and the Doctor?

Kor

At a certain point it stops being fun and just becomes annoying.

C'mon, most of you know a hell a lot more than me about all the series and most likely have viewed them in their entirety far more than I have as well, with the exception of Voyager and perhaps TOS. This exercise should be challenging and thought provoking, without relying on the obvious and shopworn. Generally, I think there's been a decent mix, but if all the answers are softballs, than the game would inevitably turn into the mind-numbing drudgery that is the Least Favorite Character Elimination threads. Don't need another one of those do we?

Still, I will warrant that nightdiamond's entry definitely seems to be on the extreme end of the spectrum. Maybe not though, and we will be kicking ourselves that really it's prominent enough to claim that it could be considered to be something that is right in front of our faces.

No, but in the interest of winding this one up, I will say that you are interestingly close. On the other one, as Torres is one of the two characters I think most likely is who we are talking about, what scene/gesture/expression in Repression are you thinking of?

I was thinking it might be in the movie theater - either in the beginning, stepping on gum or bantering while smooching Tom; or at the end, shushing Mulgrew and Russ.

I know the Vulcan philosophy quote isn't in Awakening or Kir'Shara. Any more hints?

^^ No, she's not from Enterprise (the show). But she is like a supporting character.

Some extra points :

-- It's unexpected.

-- It's something the actress apparently threw in real quick.

-- She's temporarily breaking character to tell you something.

--You have to pay attention to catch it, but it is in front of you.

-- It may be something she said or did (words or gesture).

--It's a female starfleet officer, between an ensign and a commander.

--She's not from the science division.

-- It's not from Enterprise.

I'm going to go with Yar (or rather Denise Crosby) waving goodbye at the end of TNG's "Symbiosis"

Ok, as I said, your last guess was interestingly close, but not because of the inherent content contained in the episode. To make it a bit more plain, the quote is NOT from Enterprise.

Bingo! That's it.

It was her last episode before she left the series.
You can see her sneaking in a wave right before the cargo bay doors close;

Man, that's hardcore!!! It is very brief, but given the circumstances I guess one can't claim that the movement is open to interpretation. The interesting thing about it is the more times I watch it, the harder it seems to pick up! Strange.

Oh, by the way, has my last entry been just about written off? I'd have to think that if someone, albeit senior in experience and knowledge, can solve the last one, there has to be some palpable hope that mine can be identified. It's really not that obscure and the last clue should have done more than nudge someone in the right direction.

All right, as I've said I'd very much like this enjoyable exercise to continue and if it will facilitate people wanting to contribute their own stumpers and keeping things going, here's yet another clue that I have to think should just about give the answer/question away.

A major character in the episode the quote is drawn from, has never, to the best of my knowledge, been seen other than on Earth. If I'm just deluding myself that other entries haven't appeared in wait of mine being solved, by all means feel free to inject some and we can pretend this one of mine was never introduced or I'll reveal it when I get over my disappointment of its apparently remaining too obscure.
Honestly, I really think it's considerably more straightforward than "Females"!!!

I've been wracking my brain over this one because it feels like one I should know! I think we are all just patiently chipping away at it, Drone! No worries.:techman:

Ok, here's what we know so far of your clue:

"I can only take small doses of Vulcan philosophy".
"This sounds like either Janeway, Archer, Pulaski, Phlox, or Lore - Amanda in TNG's Sarek?"

"The correct answer comes from a series in which one of the characters you were running through as possibilities appears."

"Archer in 'The Forge'?" (triology)

"...you are interestingly close...not because of the inherent content contained in the episode...the quote is NOT from Enterprise. "

"...It's really not that obscure..."

"A major character in the episode the quote is drawn from, has never, to the best of my knowledge, been seen other than on Earth..."

"I really think it's considerably more straightforward than 'Females'!!"

This leaves TNG and Voyager. An episode with a supporting character on Earth, though we don't know if they appear in only one episode or more. Perhaps an admiral in Starfleet Command, or one of those the Voyager crew was calling home in Author Author. Janes spoke with -

Oh, is it the Arbiter from Author Author?

^ I'm thinking very strongly that this is Chakotay, from "In the Flesh" The character whom has never been seen off of Earth is Boothby.

That's in my wheelhouse, but I'll hold off for a while to let it percolate a bit for everyone. :techman:

Well, nearly two days and nary a guess. Time for a new entry? Here goes. Oh yeah, the previous one was from Natural Law, Paris making his driving instructor rather nervous.

"Kill, kill, kill you all"
I think it will come pretty quickly to someone.
