I've just picked my brains and realised this object is referenced a second time (!), only on this occasion it more closely fits in the style of its actual appearance.
Here I remembered Uhura's reference when she reads out about the dog and the ball in The Changeling. Of course, the ball here is more associated with ATCSL than a bowling ball.
