No, this monster is not prehistoric. Perhaps a scene of the cast will help.

Wow the last half dozen or so I've never even heard of, let alone seen! :lol:
The great loss of modern TV, there is no place for these cinematic gems, fools gold, and fools errands of celluloid. Growing up in Boston channel 56 had Creature Double Feature on every Saturday. These plus Pop-tarts and Zarex made up many a weekend.

The image above is a film involving a group of intrepid space travelers who encounter an unknown civilization, which has dire plans for the Earth.

for me it was MonsterVision on TNT.

as for the pic, it looks familiar but i just can't place it.
 
No, but we do learn cigarettes can burn in a vacuum in this film. Here one of the aliens is using her telepathic powers.

Catwomen of the Moon? That's the only truly bad film of that era I can think of that might have that image.
 
Yes, you are right. Though it's equally evil clone, Missile to the Moon, would be a likely film to cause confusion. Kids today have access to Science Fiction so easy.
