Wild guess - The ghost and Misses Mure -or something like that?

The Ghost and Mrs. Muir (wonderful movie) starred Rex Harrison--hardly someone you would mistake for Lou Costello.


This movie, since no one seems close to guessing, is The Time of Their Lives, (1946) starring Abbott & Costello. It's terribly sweet, probably one of their best films.

You know I think this is the film I was thinking about. I remember it being quite lovely and romantic at the end--one of those memories that has always stuck in my mind but I could never remember what the film is, so assuming this is it...thanks!

^That jug is the touchstone that sets off the whole movie (which is mostly a flashback). I believe it is supposed to be Robin Hood.

Sorry, it's not Lady of Burlesque, but you have the right actress. It is the angle Lonemagpie, the actor is holding her foot with the pinkie extended. His character in the film is very straitlaced and uptight. The actress is playing on that to weedle her way around him.

Indeed, you are correct. This is one of my favorite scenes in the movie. Her delivery with the various characters is a riot.
