...But "Charlie X" appears to use the pilot version shots (with the big dish and the spikes) all the way through, so there's no inconsistency there. "Mudd's Women", "Corbomite" and "Man Trap" would similarly feature a "pre-refit" ship, as befits their low stardates... The tall bridge would supposedly only be "removed" after "Charlie X", in the in-universe chronology.

In that sense, the only two contradictory episodes would be the late ones featuring a return to the Galactic Barrier.
